History of Bill's Ranch

Bill's Ranch traces its roots to the late 1800s, when 147 acres were granted to the Thomas family under the Homestead Act. In the 1920s, as Frisco's population dwindled, the Thomas family offered free land and a cabin to families willing to relocate from Denver — they needed customers for their dairy farm. Only two families took them up on the offer, and the original cabins were used as summer homes, uninhabitable in winter. A century later, Frisco has become one of the most sought-after addresses in Summit County, and the historic walking tours that wind through Bill's Ranch reflect just how much the neighborhood has changed.
